"Buxton has always been hard to pin down. He’s Eric Davis, but he doesn’t walk or steal and has been even less durable than Davis was. He’s Adam Jones with speed and, well, less durability. There’s a lot of Steve Finley here, although Finley came to his power late in his career. Comparing Buxton to Finley sounds like a slight, but Finley was a six-win player at his best, and from age 27 to 31 hit 64 homers, stole 134 bases and was worth 18 wins. You wouldn’t take that from Buxton’s next five years?"
