I’ve written a lot about how teams march through October when a part of the roster that wasn’t very good goes off for a month. Usually that means a bullpen, but the phenomenon is not exclusive to relievers. The Guardians have gotten deeply needed production from two unlikely sources this week. Fry and Thomas have more extra-base hits against righties than the rest of the team combined, and that’s not the bet you’d have made a week ago.
