I got yelled at a bit for saying, in passing and indirectly, that the Guardians are bad. That’s an overbid, but I do think they’re a bad team by League Championship Series standards. Again, we’re talking about a .500 club based on its underlying performance, one that played among the worst schedules in baseball and had a bottom-ten starting rotation. You could argue this is a .450 club strapped to an all-time bullpen, and you wouldn’t be that far from the truth. As predicted, through two games the Guardians have not had a single reliever pitch with a lead. Nine relievers -- everyone but Emmanuel Clase -- have kept the games competitive. That’s all they can do in support of starters who have combined to allow 14 baserunners and six runs in four innings and an offense that has produced just five tallies in two games.
