These two teams played just a few weeks ago in the Bronx, with the Yankees taking two of three games, one in extras. The thing is, seven of the Yankees’ 14 runs came off James McArthur and Chris Stratton, neither of whom were on the Royals’ wild-card roster and neither of whom will do anything but mop-up work in the ALDS. The subset of the Royals’ pitching staff pitching in this series is the part that has stopped allowing runs.
